I am a Dublin-based genetic genealogist specialising in Irish family history.

My interest in genealogy began at the age of 12, when I was given a school project to research my family tree. I spent time with my 3 living grandparents and produced a small incomplete direct ancestor tree going back 5 generations.
I picked up this personal research seriously during my primary degree in history from Trinity College, Dublin working when I could with the limited records online (at the turn of the century) and learning in repositories in Dublin. I knew then it would be a lifelong passion, so began to work towards a career in genealogy. To that end, I completed a Certificate in Family History from University College, Dublin in 2011 and have been working freelance ever since. I graduated from a Masters in the History of the Family at the University of Limerick in 2021, which broadened my knowledge of Irish migration and familial development. This academic background is bolstered by more than 15 years’ experience, continuous professional development and onging personal reserach. I’m on the Register of Qualified Genealogists.

Hi Linda,
I’m not sure a petition would have much impact. There was one to try and get the 1926 census released earlier which was ignored.
We might have more success with getting a TD to table a question for the Minister.
That’s very promising. Aren’t we already in the third quarter?! I still won’t hold my breathe.
