Valuations Office

Earlier this year, I reported that the Valuations Office had moved. It’s now reopened in its new home at the Registry of Deeds on Henrietta St (Eircode: D01 EK82). I had reason to visit today, so here’s the lowdown.

The Registry of Deeds & Valuations Office

Though the building is much more beautiful, it is now in a less convenient location. It’s about 15 mins walk from O’Connell St, or you can get a LUAS part of the way. Parking wise: there’s some on streets spots on Henrietta St but I wouldn’t rely on getting one.

Booking is still required and can now only be done in 1 hour slots. Opening hours are 10-12 and 2-4pm Monday to Friday. I booked two consecutive slots today and have suggested they resume the 2 hours slots. They have a problem with printing right now, but it’s only temporary, and they contacted me in advance to advise on this.

You need to sign in at the desk and there are lockers available to put coats/belongings in, but it’s not required. Staff are as friendly and helpful as always. There is one big accessible gender neutral toilet close to the room.

The new room has the same four computers as before facing the public desk manned by staff. There’s no space for looking at books, so if you need to consult an area that hasn’t yet been digitised, you have to go up to the main reading room upstairs. I’m sorry to say they didn’t take the time to clean the keyboards during the move, but there is hand sanitiser.

See my previous blog on what you can use the Valuations Office for.
